Máscara. More than the face, more than the surface. 

Welcome to my studio, a place where masks are dreamt of, a place where sewing becomes storytelling, and storytelling gains materiality. In this autobiographical performance that explores obsession with masking, masks go beyond shapes, colours, and materials, beyond the joy of carnival. Here they become biography, relationships, and a queering of everyday life; a desire for reclaiming the right to our identity. In “Máscara”, the mask is a queer tool to seek and find our place in the world.

Masks are not a shield, something that hides. They are a microscope, a telescope… a magnifying glass!.
